You don’t want to contact Twitch support because they have nothing to do with the SMS service. If you continue to have issues and aren’t receiving your text message with or without the Authy app, you should contact Authy and ask them for a solution. You should also only use this fix as a last resort if you aren’t able to verify your Twitch with your current phone number or the Authy app. Keep in mind this solution can take between 2-4 days so it’s not exactly a speedy solution. Now I get what you are thinking: “I didn’t use Authy, I use Twitch!”īut you have to understand that Twitch uses Authy as a service to handle all incoming texts. This will take you to the Authy website where you can change your old phone number for a new number. If you don’t have access to another phone number, use that of a friend/relative instead. If installing the Authy App didn’t work as a solution for you (seriously though, try that first) you can try using a different number entirely. So whether you enable Authy or not in your Twitch settings, you become part of their network as soon as you enable 2FA. The reason Authy works without enabling it first is that the SMS authorization service that Twitch uses is provided by Authy. Once again, you do NOT have to have installed or enabled Authy for this method to work. Next stepsĪfter registering your app, the next step is to get a token.Once verified, you will be able to use Authy to log in on Twitch instead of your phone number. Sharing client IDs among applications may result in the suspension of your application’s access to the Twitch API. WARNING Do not share client IDs among applications each application must have its own client ID. You must keep it confidential and never expose it to users, even in an obscured form. IMPORTANT Treat client secrets as you would your password. Getting a new secret invalidates the previous secret, which might make your API requests fail until you update your app. You must copy the secret and store it somewhere safe. Click New Secret to generate a secret that you’ll use to get your access token. For example, the Authorization Code Grant Flow requires a client secret. Depending on the flow you use to get a token, you may need a client secret.Client IDs are considered public and can be embedded in a web page’s source. Note your Client ID, which you’ll use to get your access token and to set the Client-Id header in all API requests.Back in the Applications tab, locate your app under Developer Applications, and click Manage.Select a Category (type of application) that your app belongs to.After adding your redirect URL, click Add. Set OAuth Redirect URLs to the callback URL that your app uses for authorizations.Your app’s name is listed on the Connections page under Other Connections if your app requires user consent to access or modify the user’s resources. The name must be unique among all Twitch applications.
